Alkmaar seem to be bang in-form and have a couple of star players returning.

Well for once he did the sensible thing with preparation today. So hopefully it pays off.
I think we’ll have enough with properly rested players provided we approach the game in the right way. I can’t see us losing by enough to go out after 90 mins but it could go to extra time and pens. However I expect a narrow win for us or a draw.

We lost 2 0 at Brentford 4 days before the Lyon away game last season with a full team out . Of the starters yesterday probably only soucek and aguerd will start on Thursday. . So at least we should be fresher . Moyes mishandling of the squad was there for all to see yesterday. while I agreed with his starting line up I've never seen a side look as rusty as we looked . The rotation has been non existent.

I'm pretty sure even that side put out yesterday hammer's the side Alkmaar beat on Sunday night . Larnanca sikeborg and Viborg are better sides than FC Emmen .

We should easily have enough to get through.
I can see it being hard work though as Moyes will want to sit deep and protect our lead... When I think if we press from the beginning we can put it to bed early. Hope that's what we do and Moyes has an epiphany and realises this..

I think the lead we have will be enough and it will suit us them needing to come at us, also the no away goal rule helps as a 1-0 defeat won't put us out now. I wouldn't be shocked if we did what we did in Lyon. Respect the cloggers, yes, but let's have it right they aren't that good.

Moyes did what we wanted him to do, and results at weekend were kind.
We will arrive with rested, respected and feared players a goal to the good and with options on the bench, not looking over our shoulder at the premiership.
PROVIDING we play our 'Gent game' we need not be fearful or pessimistic.
